New Coach Hire Processing

Walk -on Coach Hiring Requirements

Any classified walk-on coach may not begin work until the following are completed:

(please note: if you are a certificated walk-on, please speak with your respective AD first before proceeding)

1) Fill out the highlighted areas on the Employment Agreement and return to AD Steve Eggert or AD Dawn Lawler in the FVHS Athletics Office. Once you are cleared in our office, then:

 

2)    Meet with either Elaine Ennis or Celia Shelly in Classified Human Resources @ the HBUHSD District Office between 7:45am-3:30pm, MondayFriday. Their address is 5832 Bolsa Ave, Huntington Beach 92649. Please bring with you:

  • Driver’s License
  • Social Security card
  • CPR card
  • First Aid card
  • NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching certificate
  • NFHS Concussion in Sports certificate
  • Negative TB Test results
  • proof of completion of Keenan Safe Schools online course
  • proof of completion of Sudden Cardiac Arrest Test

If you have any questions beforehand, you can call them @ 714-903-7000.

  • if you do not have any of the above items, here is how you obtain them:
  • Once you are at the district office, they will give you further instructions on the following:
    • Fingerprinting and TB Test (if you have not taken a recent TB test)- summer coaches—the District Office will give you paperwork and instructions how and where to complete fingerprinting and a TB Test.
    • Fingerprinting and TB Test- in season coaches–  for your convenience, you may complete a test here @ FVHS- see Marci McLean-Crawford in the Nurses Office to have the test started (you may want to call first to confirm that she is in- 714-962-3301 x4430 or x4429 or email- mmcleancrawford@hbuhsd.edu ; mention that you are a walk-on coach. The District Office will give you paperwork and instructions how and where to complete fingerprinting.
